• When should I come to MedWise® Urgent Care?

  MedWise offers complete on-site healthcare services. Visit MedWise for:

  • Non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses in both adults and children
  • A reliable, cost-effective alternative to the emergency room
  • When your primary care physician is not available
  • Same-day care when you or your loved ones are visiting from out-of-town

• What conditions do you treat at MedWise?

  We treat everything from colds, allergies, burns, poison ivy and lacerations to sprains, strains and broken bones. We offer urgent care and preventative care including physical exams, flu shots and vaccines.

• Do I need an appointment to come to MedWise?

  We do accept walk ins, but when patient volume is high, so are wait times. To keep your wait time down, we suggest making an appointment.

• Does MedWise treat infants?

  Yes. MedWise provides pediatric care, and staff are trained to treat patients of all ages for acute care.

• Can I go to MedWise if I get injured on the job?

  Yes. MedWise offers initial evaluation for Workers’ Compensation injuries. Please consult your Human Resources Department for details.

• Should I go to MedWise or the ER?

  If you are experiencing a life-threatening illness or injury, dial 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room. MedWise can treat general illnesses and minor injuries. You are always welcome to contact us if you have questions.

About your visit

• What should I bring for my visit?

  You can check in online and complete your paperwork online or in person. Please bring the following items with you to your urgent care visit:

  • Driver’s license or picture ID
  • Insurance card (if you have health insurance)
  • Payment for insurance co-pay or for self-pay. Payment is due at the time of treatment.

  We also recommend you bring a list of:

  • Current medications
  • Medical history
  • All allergies

• What is online check-in?

  This service allows you to go through the check-in process virtually, using your mobile device or home computer to check-in online and reserve your spot in line. MedWise will contact you about your upcoming visit so you can wait in the lobby or your car. Message us with any questions.

• How long will I have to wait?

  We strive to provide efficient and high quality service to every patient.  At check-in, we will estimate your wait time to the best of our ability.

Insurance, fees and payment

• Is MedWise less expensive than the emergency room?

  MedWise is a reliable, cost-effective alternative to visiting the emergency room and is significantly less expensive than the ER.

• Will MedWise accept my health insurance?

  Most major insurance plans are accepted. MedWise offers affordable options for all patients.

• What if I don’t have health insurance?

  MedWise offers affordable payment options to help patients who have no insurance or whose insurance does not cover the full cost.

• Can I pay my bill online?

  Yes. Log in to the patient portal to pay your MedWise bill online.
